Written for readers in Alberta
Alberta opened a licensed online gambling market on the thirteenth of July 2026, and the only operators this page carries are the ones on the provincial register. There is no offer on this page, because the Alberta standards do not allow an affiliate to communicate one.

A market that is three months old
Alberta began licensing online gambling on the thirteenth of July 2026, under the iGaming Alberta Act, with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (the "AGLC" throughout this page) setting the "standards" and Alberta iGaming Corporation (the "AiGC") holding the agreements that operators sign. For you it means what the Ontario market meant four years earlier (April 2022), which is an operator that has accepted a set of provincial rules, a "self-exclusion" system and a complaints route that ends inside the province rather than in a jurisdiction you will never visit.
The newness of the thing shows in two places, and both are worth knowing before you read the list below.
The "register of sites" is still growing week by week (the most recent logo on the page was uploaded around the fourteenth of October 2026), so that a number published today is a number for today and not for next month; and the question of which corporate entity holds the Alberta registration for a brand that also operates in Ontario is, for several brands, answered only by the register itself rather than by anything the operator publishes about itself.
We have therefore done on this page what we do everywhere, which is to print the company exactly as the register prints it and to say when we read it. Where the register and an operator's own material disagree about a name, the register wins, because the register is the document that the province stands behind, while the operator's page is marketing (which is a different kind of writing with a different purpose).
The order of this page, and what the cards are
The order is the licensing authority and then the alphabet, the same rule used on every page of this site. The twelve cards are the registered sites for which we hold an Alberta link; the register underneath carries all fifty-one, including the operators that do not pay us. Nobody paid for a position above.
The rules on offers, in the province's own words
Section 4.1 of the Standards and Requirements for Internet Gaming (the "SRIG", issued on the eighteenth of June 2026) reads: "Advertising and marketing materials (including algorithmic based ads) that communicate gambling inducements, bonuses and credits are prohibited, except on an Operator's gaming site and through direct marketing and advertising, after receiving express player consent." The exception allowed by the section is the operator's own "gaming site" and a "direct" message to a player who has asked for it, and a page like this one is neither of those two things.
Where an offer may be communicated at all, the same section sets out how it must be presented, and the three requirements (they are numbered 1, 2 and 3 in the text) are worth your reading because they describe what an honest offer looks like anywhere.
The material must "disclose all material conditions and limitations of the offer at its first presentation on the gaming site, with all other conditions and limitations no more than one click away"; it must not call something free "unless the inducement, bonus or credit is free", and where the player has to risk or lose his own money the terms must be disclosed and the word must not be used; and it must not describe an offer as "risk-free" if using it, or withdrawing the winnings from it, requires him to risk or lose money of his own.
One difference from Ontario is worth noting, and it tells you how the two provinces think about the same problem. The word "affiliate" does not appear anywhere in the Alberta standards in connection with marketing: the province regulates the same conduct through the operator's obligation over its "third parties", and it does so without naming the trade at all (Ontario, by contrast, names it in a guidance note of 2022).
The obligation itself is in the same section. A registered operator must ensure that no third party which markets for it "also undertake such activities related to online gaming sites that facilitate or accept wagers from players in Alberta without an AGLC registration".
What else the Alberta standards forbid in an advertisement
No themes or language whose main appeal is to minors, no cartoon characters or mascots of that kind, no active or former athletes except in responsible gambling messages, and no person who is or appears to be under twenty-five shown gambling. Nothing may present gambling as a solution to a personal or family problem, as an alternative to employment or as an investment, encourage play to recover losses, or suggest that winning is the likely outcome. From sections 4.1.4 and 4.1.5 of the SRIG, issued on 18 June 2026.
What this costs a site that lives on offers
There is no point in pretending that the Alberta rules are neutral for a publisher like this one, and a reader is entitled to know what a page costs the person who wrote it.
A "comparison site" is normally built on the offer, and the offer is exactly what the province has removed from the channel; the sixteen domains that this publisher runs are mostly built around a "no-deposit" bonus (an offer that asks for no money in), and in Alberta that proposition is precisely the one the regulator compresses.
What is left, in our view, is a better page than the one we would otherwise have written, and we would say so even without the rule behind it.
The operator's own guidance to its partners, circulated in October 2026, suggests building the Alberta material on the breadth of the catalogue, on the years of operation, on the payment methods that it supports (Interac, eCheck, Google Pay, Apple Pay, iDebit, InstaDebit, Visa and Mastercard) and on the hours that its support desk keeps, and those are all claims a reader can check for himself in an afternoon. They are also claims that age slowly, where a welcome figure ages in a week and is wrong by the time anybody acts on it.
The regulatory reading above is ours and it is a reading rather than advice, so that a publisher who needs certainty about his own position in Alberta should take it from a lawyer who practises there, while an operator who needs it should take it from the Commission that registered him.
The register, in full
Below is the whole register as Alberta iGaming Corporation publishes it: the site, the company that operates it, and the description that the register itself carries in the operator's words (it calls them "taglines", and several are worth reading twice). Fifty-one sites, counted one by one on the twenty-first of October 2026, because the page's own counter is drawn by a script and can read zero while the list underneath it is full.
A second number on the provincial side does not match the first, and the gap between them is informative rather than troubling.
The Commission's register of gaming registrants lists forty-two registrations in the class that it calls "iGaming Operator", which is more entities than there are sites on the Corporation's list: a company can hold a provincial registration and not yet have a site in operation, and several of them do (the registrants include names that no reader will find in the fifty-one).
One convention of the Alberta register deserves a line of its own, and a reader who knows these brands from elsewhere will notice it at once (we did). Five sites of the Casino Rewards group appear with the province's name in front of the brand, so that the register reads "Alberta Golden Tiger" and "Alberta Luxury Casino", while two others from the same group (Zodiac Casino and Yukon Gold Casino) appear without it. We have copied the register rather than tidying it up, and if you are looking for a brand you know, look for the province's name in front of it.

Taking a break, and where to ask
Alberta runs a centralised self-exclusion programme, and the standards give it a statutory hook worth quoting, and the hook is what makes the programme work rather than merely exist. Under section 3.5, "Pursuant to section 34.2 of the Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Regulation, registered Operators must not permit a person who is enrolled in AGLC's self-exclusion program to enter or remain in their iGaming site." Enrolment is at selfexclusion.ca, or on 1-844-468-8034 (the AGLC answers that line itself).
GameSense is the province's information service and answers on 1-833-447-7523 (afternoons and evenings, five days a week). One detail about its address has circulated wrongly for long enough to need stating here: the domain that resolves is gamesenseab.ca, while the variant that puts a dot before the province does not exist at all, which we checked by resolving both of them (one answers, the other returns nothing) on the day this page was written.
The service with the widest hours is not GameSense, whose line keeps afternoons and evenings on five days of the week. If you need somebody now, 211 Alberta answers on 2-1-1 at any hour and in several languages, the Alberta Health Services helpline answers on 1-866-332-2322, and the Mental Health Help Line (1-877-303-2642) answers around the clock as well.
Questions readers ask
Is the minimum age eighteen or nineteen in Alberta?
Eighteen. The Standards and Requirements for Internet Gaming define a minor as "a person under the age of 18 years" and exclude from play "an individual under 18 years of age", and Alberta iGaming Corporation closes its own pages with "18+ Play Responsibly". Alberta is one of the three provinces where the age is eighteen rather than nineteen.
Why is there no bonus on this page?
Because section 4.1 of the Alberta standards prohibits advertising that communicates "gambling inducements, bonuses and credits" except on the operator's own site and in direct marketing "after receiving express player consent". The wording is almost identical to Ontario's, with one word changed: Ontario requires active consent and Alberta express consent.
Alberta's register shows names beginning with "Alberta". Is that a mistake?
No, it is how the register writes them. Five brands of the Casino Rewards group appear as Alberta Golden Tiger, Alberta Casino Classic, Alberta Captain Cooks Casino, Alberta Grand Mondial Casino and Alberta Luxury Casino, while Zodiac Casino and Yukon Gold Casino appear without the prefix. We have copied the register rather than tidying it.
Why does this page carry a date of our own instead of the register's?
Because the Alberta register publishes no date. There is no "as of" line on the page and no last-modified header, so the only honest date is the day we read it and counted the entries one by one, which was the twenty-first of October 2026.
